Our Story
Born from decades of pastoral trading and grounded in Laikipia’s drylands, Booran Kaúu represents a shift — from survival to sustainability.
We started as traditional livestock traders. Today, we operate a structured, science-driven beef enterprise combining irrigated and rain-fed fodder production, modern feedlots, and strip-grazing systems that guarantee consistency, quality, and resilience.
Our Founder
Liban Roba — a commercial pastoralist and livestock trader with 15+ years of experience working across Kenya’s pastoral markets — from Doldol to Emali.
His journey from trading to integrated production defines Booran Kaúu’s purpose: to unlock value for pastoral economies through innovation.
Our Vision
To be East Africa’s most trusted source of sustainably produced beef, rooted in pastoral heritage and powered by innovation.
Our Mission
To build resilient beef systems that enhance livelihoods, regenerate ecosystems, and deliver consistent, high-quality products to markets.
Our Model
The Booran Kaúu System: Integrated, Scalable, Sustainable
We operate a dual secondary production model that blends:
Intensive Feedlot Operations – for controlled fattening and consistent quality.
Strip Grazing with Supplementation – for cost-effective, flexible feeding.
Supported by:
65 acres under fodder (25 irrigated, 40 rain-fed).
2 dams (30,000 m³ & 20,000 m³).
19 elevated tanks (10,000L each).
A hay barn and cattle pen with modern infrastructure.
Our Value Proposition
Consistent year-round beef supply.
Premium carcass quality for institutional and commercial markets.
Drought resilience through diversified feed systems.
Reliable offtake linkages for pastoral producers.
Sustainability
Climate-Smart Agriculture
Our irrigation and water storage systems support fodder resilience, reduce pressure on natural grazing, and improve soil and water conservation.
Community Impact
We collaborate with pastoral households by sourcing cattle ethically and offering stable market access, especially during droughts.
Environmental Stewardship
By integrating afforestation and efficient water use, Booran Kaúu aims to become a net-positive beef producer — one that sustains both people and ecosystems.
