Booran Kaúu is a climate-smart livestock enterprise based in Laikipia County, Kenya. We specialize in integrated beef production — combining irrigated fodder systems, modern feedlots, and strip grazing to ensure consistent, high-quality beef supply year-round.

Our operations are based near Nanyuki, in Laikipia County, at the heart of Kenya’s rangelands. The location is ideal for combining irrigation-fed fodder production with extensive grazing systems that support resilience and productivity.

We bridge traditional pastoralism and modern agribusiness. Our approach integrates technology, water infrastructure, and climate-smart practices to build reliable beef systems that benefit both the environment and local communities.

The farm covers approximately 65 acres, with 25 acres under irrigation and 40 acres under rain-fed fodder.
We have two dams, 19 elevated tanks, and modern cattle handling and feeding infrastructure designed for scalable feedlot operations.

Our focus is on beef cattle, primarily sourced from pastoral communities across Northern Kenya. We use science-driven feeding, monitoring, and fattening systems to achieve premium-grade carcass quality.

We integrate irrigation, soil conservation, and water harvesting to maintain production during dry spells. This reduces dependence on rainfall and supports sustainable resource use — protecting both livelihoods and landscapes.

Liban Roba, a seasoned livestock trader and agribusiness leader, founded Booran Kaúu. His experience across Kenya’s pastoral value chains inspired the creation of a model that transforms traditional livestock systems into commercially viable, sustainable enterprises.

We work directly with pastoral producers, offering stable offtake markets, fair pricing, and capacity building. Our goal is to ensure that climate-smart livestock production creates shared prosperity across the entire value chain.
